New Department affiliation: CERGIC

The Department of Economics is happy to announce the creation of ENS de Lyon's research unit: Center for Economic Research on Governance, Inequality and Conflict (CERGIC).

January 01, 2023, marks a new milestone for the Department with the creation of École Normale Supérieures de Lyon's research unit "Center for Economic Research on Governance, Inequality and Conflict" (CERGIC). Through CERGIC the Department will consolidate the strong scientific dynamics that has been underway at ENS de Lyon since 2017 around research in economics related to governance, equality, information dissemination and conflict resolution.

The research questions that will be addressed within the framework of the Center for Economic Research on Governance, Inequality and Conflict are the numerous crises that plague modern societies and that are crossed by political, social and environmental dimensions. The center will bring a particular attention to the topics:

equalities and capabilities,
peace and emancipation,
digital revolution and citizenship.

As a consequence of CERGIC's creation, the Department leaves its affiliation with Groupe d'Analyse et de Théorie Economique (GATE Lyon-Saint-Etienne) as of January 01. The Department wants to direct a thank you for the time with GATE and looks forward to a continuous and prosperous exchange with its researchers and scientists.
