The Department
The Department of Economics of École Normale Supérieure de Lyon is committed to excellence in research and higher education. It is supported by a faculty consisting of economists and academic scientists who conduct innovative research directly linked with the latest advancements of the modern economic analysis.
Research
The Department's research activities are organized within the Center for Economic Research on Governance, Inequality and Conflict (CERGIC). The research conducted in the center is related to governance, equality, information dissemination and conflict resolution.
Education
The Department of Economics offers a rich curriculum at undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate level. Its study programmes are internationally recognized for the excellence of the training provided. Throughout the Department's multidisciplinary approach students take part of a coherent curriculum that includes but is not limited to microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, mathematics, statistics and applied economics. In addition to the theoretical training, the Department supports its students in the obtention of the practical skills needed to conduct qualified analytical and investigational work in the public administration, at research institutes, in financial institutions, and in private and non governmental organisations, both in France and internationally.
